So I am in Boise, Idaho and I have been posted as a Community Solutions Fellow at Micro Enterprise Training & Assistance (META).
META is a nonprofit provider of direct and supportive small business assistance to new Americans, women, minorities, and other low- to moderate-income entrepreneurs in southwest and south central Idaho.
They are a direct program of Mountain States Group—a nonprofit community-based health and human services organization with local, national, and international reach. META began micro enterprise operations in Idaho in 2002 with a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement.
META specializes in providing direct micro loans, one-on-one consulting, and business plan training classes. These and other resources give META clients the tools to prosper and contribute to the economic vitality in the communities in which they live.
Much like an entrepreneur, META uses innovative strategies to constantly explore and develop new markets. META’s vision is to expand the same quality micro enterprise development products and services to all low- to moderate-income entrepreneurs in Idaho.
META works closely with the Boise State University on a number of things and one of thing being the 3rd year Boise Marketing students helping new and emerging entrepreneurs find their identity and brand.
This usually happens only once a year and I was lucky that this year, when they asked META if there are any businesses interested and I asked to be part of this they said yes.
I was teamed up with 2 genius girls – Shailey & Kelly and they came up with amazing ideas and I was very happy with the end results. Have a look in the slideshow below…
